Tiny Titan on Track: Atiqa Mir Fuels India’s Karting Dreams

At just 10 years old, Atiqa Asif Mir from Kashmir isn’t just driving go-karts, she’s driving history.

With a spark in her eyes and a racing helmet barely bigger than her backpack, Atiqa has become one of the youngest motorsport sensations to watch. In 2024, she stunned the karting world by finishing 9th overall at the prestigious Rotax Euro Trophy in Italy, something no Indian or Asian racer had ever done before. For Atiqa, that finish wasn’t just a number. It was a statement.

She didn’t stop there. At the legendary Le Mans circuit in France, where racing dreams are born, Atiqa went wheel-to-wheel with 36 of the world’s best young drivers and won a heat race. No fear. No excuses. Just sheer talent and determination.

Big names in motorsport are already taking notice. She’s been signed by the ultra-competitive Babyrace Driver Academy, a team with 29 WSK titles to its name. In 2025, Atiqa will compete in every major WSK event, Europe’s top karting championship. Out of over 60 drivers, she’ll be the only girl on the grid. And the first Indian girl ever to race in the WSK Mini class.

Her mentor? None other than Narain Karthikeyan, India’s first Formula 1 driver. He discribes Atiqa as “World’s top female karter in her category.”

But Atiqa’s story began much earlier. Before Europe knew her name, she was already making headlines, climbing national podiums in India and becoming vice-champion in the UAE karting circuit. Her journey has been fast, fierce and fearless.

What makes Atiqa truly special isn’t just her speed on the track, it’s her spirit off it. In a sport where boys usually dominate, this little girl from Kashmir is rewriting the rules, one race at a time. She’s not waiting for a future in motorsport. She’s creating it.

With every lap, Atiqa Mir isn’t just chasing trophies, she’s chasing dreams. And she’s bringing a whole nation along for the ride.
