A massive blast ripped through a bar named Le Constellation located in the Alpine ski resort town of Crans Montana, Switzerland, during the New Year celebration. Swiss police confirmed that several people have died and many badly injured and are being treated. Gaetan Lathion, a police spokesperson in Wallis canton in southwestern Switzerland, has confirmed, “There has been an explosion of unknown origin… There are several injured and several dead,”. It is estimated that about 100 people were inside the bar when the explosion happened.
The police spokesperson also shared that the explosion happened around 1:30am in a popular bar called Le Constellation, as people there were busy welcoming the new year. “More than a hundred people were in the building, and we are seeing many injured and many dead. We have just begun the investigation, but this is an internationally renowned ski resort with lots of tourists,” he noted. Meanwhile, many pictures and videos have been circulating on social media that show a bar burning in flames and pictures of ambulances and at least one fire engine outside the bar.
