The funeral of industrialist and former spouse of Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay Kapur, who recently passed away due to a cardiac arrest while playing polo in London, is being held in Delhi today. A prayer meet will take place on June 22. A press note regarding the funeral was issued on Wednesday, his last rites is scheduled today at 5 pm at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground here.

Meanwhile a note has become viral on social media that is signed by his mother Rani Surinder Kapur, his wife Priya, Safira, Azarias. There is also a mention of former wife Karisma, Samaira and Kiaan.

As per family sources, the funeral of Sunjay was delayed due to legal formalities involving his US citizenship. During a discussion with media his wife Priya Sachdev’s father Ashok Sachdev shared that Sunjay’s last rites will happen in Delhi, “Currently the postmortem is being done and once the paperwork completes, the body will be brought back.”

During a polo match in England on June 12, Sunjay Kapur suffered a cardiac arrest and succumbed to death. As per reports, the heart attack had happened due to a bee sting. However, an official statement on this is yet to be declared.

Sunjay tied the knot thrice, first in 1996 with fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, their marriage lasted for some four years, then he married Karisma Kapoor in 2003 and parted their ways in 2016, the couple have two kids Samaira (19) and Kiaan (13). After the separation, Sunjay married Priya Sachdev in 2017. The couple have one son – Azarias.
