Srinivasan Services Trust supports Tiger Conservation measures in Tamil Nadu
Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), the social arm of Sundaram-Clayton Limited and TVS Motor Company, today handed over 180 numbers of high luminescent searchlights and 12 numbers of GPS to Directors of Mudumalai, Sathyamangalam and Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserves as part of wildlife conservation initiatives in Tamil Nadu. The high luminescent flashlights would be extremely useful for night patrolling, anti-poaching raids and elephant anti-depredation activities. The handover ceremony to support Tiger Conservation happened in the presence of Hon. Minister of Forests, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wild Life), Chief Wildlife Warden (CWLW)and Field Directors.
SST has been actively supporting the Tiger Reserves in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to conserve habitat, enhance water availability, strengthen wildlife protection, and improve the visitor and staff facilities. In 2022, SST has contributed Rs 20 lakh to the state of Tamil Nadu to support Tiger conservation initiatives. The Trust has been closely working with Field Directors for the Tiger conservation Programme.
Srinivasan Services Trust is working in 2500 villages spread over the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh in the last 25 years towards developing sustainable and self-reliant villages. SST has been working in critical areas such as economic development, providing better health care facilities, improvement of infrastructure, water and environment conservation, with the active involvement of communities and government departments.
