SRH vs RR, IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad Beat Rajasthan Royals by 57 Runs in Hyderabad

The CSR Journal Magazine

Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a comprehensive 57-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in Match 21 of the Indian Premier League 2026, posting 216/6 before bowling out Rajasthan for 159 in 19 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Kishan Leads SRH Charge with Match-Winning Knock

Captain Ishan Kishan led from the front with a commanding 91 off 44 balls, anchoring Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings after a steady start. His knock, laced with aggressive strokeplay, ensured SRH maintained momentum through the middle overs.

He found solid support from Heinrich Klaasen, who contributed a brisk 40 off 26 deliveries, helping SRH push beyond the 200-run mark. For Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer was the standout bowler, finishing with two wickets, but the rest of the attack struggled to contain the scoring rate.

Sunrisers Post 216 After Strong Middle Overs Surge

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad built their innings around a measured start before accelerating through the middle phase. Kishan took control after the powerplay, targeting both pace and spin with equal authority.

A crucial partnership between Kishan and Klaasen shifted the momentum decisively in SRH’s favour. The duo added quick runs in the middle overs, exploiting gaps and punishing loose deliveries. Despite a few wickets towards the end, SRH finished strongly at 216/6, a total well above par on the Hyderabad surface.

Debutant Bowlers Trigger Rajasthan Collapse

In response, Rajasthan Royals never found stability in their chase. Early wickets dented their momentum, and the required rate quickly escalated beyond control.

Donovan Ferreira attempted to revive the innings with a fighting 69, while Ravindra Jadeja added 45, but the lack of support from the top order proved costly.

The turning point came through debutant pacer Praful Hinge, who delivered a sensational spell, including a three-wicket burst in a single over. Alongside him, Sakib Hussain also impressed with four wickets, dismantling Rajasthan’s batting line-up. Rajasthan were eventually bowled out for 159, falling well short of the target.

In the end, Ishan Kishan was named Player of the Match for his decisive innings that set up the victory. The result halts Rajasthan Royals’ winning run and provides Sunrisers Hyderabad with crucial momentum in the tournament.

The next IPL fixture will see Chennai Super Kings take on Kolkata Knight Riders, while Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Delhi Capitals in their next outing. Rajasthan Royals, meanwhile, are scheduled to play Kolkata Knight Riders as they look to bounce back quickly.
