The Sports Ministry has sanctioned a total of 246 team officials and support staff to accompany the 503 athletes who will represent India at the 20th Asian Games. The Games are scheduled to commence on September 19, 2026, in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Composition of the Indian Contingent

The total Indian contingent for the Asian Games has now reached 768 members, comprising both athletes and support personnel. This includes 19 contingent staff, among whom are key figures such as chef de mission Sahdev Yadav and chief medical officer Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala. The athletics contingent, featuring 79 competitors, has been allocated the largest support staff of 31 members. This team is led by national coach P Radhakrishnan and includes 20 coaches dedicated to optimally preparing the athletes. Unfortunately, the squad will be without prominent javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who is currently recovering from an injury.

In addition, both men’s and women’s cricket teams have been granted a combined support staff of 20 members, directed by former cricketer VVS Laxman.
