The CSR Journal Magazine

Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party, was discharged from Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on the morning of November 8, 2026, after undergoing thorough medical examination and observation. An official statement from Dr Purvez K Grant, the Chief Cardiologist and Chairman of the hospital, confirmed that Pawar is stable and in good health. The statement indicated that he would be travelling directly to his residence in Mumbai following his discharge.

The statement expressed well wishes for Pawar’s health and a speedy recovery, reflecting the sentiments of the medical staff involved in his care. The discharge followed a period of observation after he was admitted due to health complaints, which included a cough and chest pain.

Family and Friends Provide Assurance

Vitthal Maniyar, a family friend, spoke to the media regarding Pawar’s condition, stating that all medical reports were satisfactory and there was no cause for concern. He reassured the public that Pawar was not facing any significant difficulties and that his health was stable. Maniyar mentioned that the veteran politician had experienced a cough and phlegm two days prior to his admission, which prompted the decision to seek medical attention.

Maniyar further noted that the Prime Minister had reached out to inquire about Pawar’s health, wishing him a swift recovery. He emphasised the importance of Pawar’s presence in the political landscape and appealed to party workers and supporters not to worry. The outpouring of concern and affection from people across Maharashtra and beyond was acknowledged, highlighting the politician’s significant standing in the community.

Pawar’s daughter, Supriya Sule, who is also a Member of Parliament from Baramati and the working president of the NCP, had earlier indicated that her father’s health parameters were stable. She confirmed that he was undergoing medical tests and that there was no immediate cause for alarm.

Background of Admission

The veteran politician was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic on November 2, 2023, due to complaints of cough and pleuritic chest pain. His admission was part of a precautionary measure to ensure his health was thoroughly assessed. The hospital had stated that he would remain under observation until his condition stabilised.

During his stay, medical staff conducted various tests to monitor his health, and it was reported that his discomfort had subsided significantly. Following this improvement, doctors deemed him fit for discharge, allowing him to return home. Pawar had recently been active in visiting drought-affected regions of Maharashtra, which may have contributed to his health issues.

The discharge marks a positive turn in Pawar’s health journey, and he is expected to continue his recovery at home. His family and supporters remain optimistic about his return to full health, as they express gratitude for the medical care he received during his hospital stay.
