Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy Book 6, a new addition to its lineup aimed at users seeking a compact laptop for daily tasks. This 14-inch model promises robust specifications and advanced features that cater to a wide range of user needs.

Specifications and Features

The Galaxy Book 6 is equipped with a 14-inch WUXGA LCD display, boasting a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio, along with a brightness level of 350 nits. An anti-reflective coating enhances usability, reducing glare during long usage sessions, making it suitable for various environments.

Under the hood, the device can be configured with an Intel Core i5 processor, complemented by an Intel Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that supports up to 15 TOPS for artificial intelligence tasks. Users have the option of selecting up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe storage, providing flexibility to suit different requirements.

The laptop operates on either Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro 25H2, depending on the chosen configuration. Samsung is integrating several Galaxy AI features into the device, such as AI Select, AI Cut Out, and Note Assist. These functionalities aim to enhance productivity by aiding users in content management, such as summarising notes and removing backgrounds from images.

Additionally, the Galaxy Book 6 supports seamless interaction with other Galaxy devices. Features like Quick Share and Multi Control facilitate easy file transfers and content access among devices, enhancing the overall user experience.

Battery Performance and Audio Capabilities

The Galaxy Book 6 features a 61.2Wh battery, with Samsung asserting that it can provide up to 25 hours of use on a single charge. It also supports 45W USB Type-C charging, with the potential to achieve approximately 33 per cent battery capacity in just 30 minutes, making it convenient for users on the go.

For video conferencing, the laptop includes a 2-megapixel camera that supports 1080p video, ensuring clear communication during calls. Accompanying this are dual-array microphones and stereo speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos, which collectively enhance the audio experience for users.

Pricing and Availability Information

The starting price for the Galaxy Book 6 is set at $799, which translates to approximately Rs 75,800 for the base model that includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Samsung is offering various configurations, including options with 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB or 1TB of storage, though prices will differ based on the specific market and configuration chosen.

The new laptop is currently available in selected markets, with plans for broader distribution in the near future. Nevertheless, Samsung has yet to provide detailed information regarding its availability in India or any associated launch events.
