Royal Enfield Unveils Continental GT 750 as Its Most Powerful Motorcycle at EICMA 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

Royal Enfield has announced the Continental GT 750, set to be revealed at EICMA 2026, marking a significant advancement in its parallel-twin motorcycle range. This new model is poised to become the most powerful motorcycle produced by the Indian manufacturer, surpassing both the Continental GT 650 and the recently introduced Himalayan 750 in engine performance.

Engine Specifications and Mechanical Features

The Continental GT 750 is built on the same platform as the Himalayan 750, featuring a newly developed 743cc parallel-twin engine. Although the engine architecture is shared, it is expected that the cafe racer will have a distinct tuning, likely resulting in a higher power output compared to its adventure-focused counterpart. The Himalayan 750’s engine currently delivers 55bhp and 63Nm of peak torque, setting a benchmark for the upcoming model.

In terms of mechanical differences, the Continental GT 750 utilises a cable-operated throttle, diverging from the electronic throttle system found in the Himalayan 750. The motorcycle is also equipped with twin exhaust pipes, replacing the single exhaust configuration of the Himalayan. The frame architecture remains similar to that of the Continental GT 650, albeit with modifications to accommodate the larger engine.

The suspension system comprises telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, both of which allow for preload adjustment. Unlike the GT 650, which employs a progressive, gas-charged suspension setup, the Continental GT 750 opts for conventional rear springs and linear-rate components. Braking is enhanced with twin front discs, a notable upgrade from the single-disc setup on the Continental GT 650, although the specific hardware details are yet to be confirmed by Royal Enfield.

Design Elements and Features

The Continental GT 750 retains the classic cafe racer silhouette while incorporating several unique design elements. It features a twin-pod instrument cluster that includes analogue-style sweeping needles alongside a small TFT display positioned at the bottom. The switchgear has been upgraded to metal switch cubes, enhancing the motorcycle’s premium feel.

Royal Enfield plans to offer the Continental GT 750 in three distinct colour options: Master Clean, Red Line, and TT Blue. The Master Clean and Red Line variants will include chrome detailing, wire-spoke wheels, and tubed tyres, along with a small front quarter fairing. In contrast, the TT Blue variant will feature alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, along with a more relaxed riding position that eliminates the front fairing.

All three versions will ride on 18-inch wheels and come with a single-piece seat. A removable seat cowl will cover the pillion section, allowing the motorcycle to maintain its cafe racer aesthetic while providing passenger accommodation when needed.

Anticipated Launch and Future Prospects

While Royal Enfield has yet to disclose complete specifications for the Continental GT 750, including final power output, kerb weight, and pricing, it is anticipated that the motorcycle will weigh less than the Continental GT 650, which has a kerb weight of 214kg. The launch in India is expected in 2027, likely during the first quarter.

In the meantime, the Himalayan 750 is expected to debut in India sooner, potentially at the upcoming MotoVerse event. With the introduction of the Continental GT 750, Royal Enfield aims to elevate its performance offerings in the parallel-twin motorcycle segment, marking a new chapter for the Continental GT series, a well-regarded line within the manufacturer’s portfolio.
