The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Ranbir Kapoor unveiled the first look of his character as Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana during an event in Los Angeles on Monday. The event gathered considerable attention as Kapoor addressed both the audience and media about the profound significance of Lord Ram, describing him as “Maryada Puroshattam,” an ideal human being.

This initial glimpse of the film is set to be shared with audiences in India on April 2, coinciding with the celebration of Hanuman Jayanti. Both Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari discussed the essential values embodied by Lord Ram and the overarching themes of the Ramayana. Kapoor emphasized that Lord Ram has been a guiding figure for billions globally for centuries, advocating for the human spirit’s resilience in the face of challenges. He highlighted the qualities that define Lord Ram, such as compassion, courage, righteousness, and forgiveness.

Accompanying Kapoor in the film is Sai Pallavi, who plays the role of Goddess Sita. The film reveals an ensemble cast that includes Sunny Deol portraying Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, and Ravi Dubey as Laxman. Additional cast members featuring prominently in the film include Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, Sheeba Chaddha, Kajal Aggarwal, Kunal Kapoor, Indira Krishnan, and Faisal Malik.

Producer Namit Malhotra previously announced that the premiere glimpse of Lord Rama will lead the film’s promotional activities in anticipation of its Diwali release later this year. The initial look is scheduled to be released worldwide on a specific Thursday between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:30 am, with various grand events planned across the nation to celebrate this milestone.

The Ramayana film draws inspiration from the legendary epic penned by sage Valmiki, aiming to retell this timeless narrative through a modern cinematic lens. The film’s storytelling is expected to highlight the moral lessons and enduring values that resonate with audiences, both in India and around the world.

As the anticipation builds leading up to the film’s release, the discussions around Lord Ram’s virtues and the significance of the Ramayana continue to evoke interest within cinematic and cultural circles, setting the stage for a significant cinematic contribution to India’s rich storytelling tradition.
