RailOne SuperApp Crosses 20 Million Downloads, Logs 5 Lakh Daily Bookings in 8 Months

The CSR Journal Magazine

RailOne, the integrated application developed by the Indian Railways, has recently announced that it has surpassed 20 million downloads within a short span of less than eight months since its introduction. Furthermore, the app has recorded over 500,000 ticket bookings per day this month, emphasizing its swift acceptance among railway travelers across India.

The RailOne SuperApp was officially launched on July 1 by Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways. Since its launch, it has quickly become a vital tool for passengers, streamlining access to various railway services through a single platform. Currently, the app is facilitating around 600,000 ticket bookings daily, reflecting its operational capacity and the growing trust among users.

RailOne combines numerous essential services such as reserved and unreserved ticket booking, platform ticket purchases, train inquiries, checking PNR status, and other passenger-focused functionalities, making it a comprehensive digital gateway for travel.

This achievement represents Indian Railways’ ongoing commitment to digital transformation aimed at improving passenger convenience and operational efficiency. With its scalable framework and user-friendly design, RailOne aims to enhance the overall experience for citizens interacting with railway services.

In addition to the app’s impressive growth, Ashwini Vaishnaw recently introduced the RailTech Policy and announced the complete digitization of the Railway Claims Tribunal as part of the broader initiative titled “52 Reforms in 52 Weeks.” This initiative intends to modernize Indian Railways through various reforms.

The RailTech Policy is designed to foster innovation within Indian Railways by engaging startups, innovators, industry partners, and academic institutions. It streamlines the selection process for innovators and includes a “Rail Tech Portal” dedicated to promoting innovation. This new framework allows any innovator or departmental user to initiate innovation challenges, requiring a detailed single-stage proposal submission.

Moreover, the policy not only improves the user experience but also significantly increases the scale-up grant more than threefold. It also doubles the maximum grant available for prototype development and testing, thereby creating a conducive environment for advancements in railway technology.
