Piyush Goyal Talks about Congress’ ‘Arrogance and Frustration’ over AI Impact Summit Protest

The CSR Journal Magazine

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has expressed strong criticism towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following a protest staged by members of the Indian Youth Congress during the AI Summit in New Delhi on Friday. Goyal took to social media to voice his discontent, labeling the actions of the Congress as indicative of “arrogance and frustration.” He stated that Gandhi’s approach to opposing the government is to humiliate the nation rather than engage in constructive dialogue.

Protest Details and Youth Congress Statement

The protest unfolded at Bharat Mandapam where participants removed their shirts as a form of dissent. The Indian Youth Congress clarified that their demonstration aimed to protest what they termed a “compromised Prime Minister,” accusing him of undermining the country’s identity at the international event. In conjunction with the protest, Goyal emphasized that such actions only reveal the Congress party’s lack of vision for India.

Response from Congress Leadership

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi critiqued the government’s organization of the summit, alleging that instead of effectively showcasing India’s potential in technology and data, the event has devolved into a poorly organized public relations exercise. He accused the government of commodifying Indian data and giving prominence to Chinese products at the summit.

Congress President Raises Concerns About Event Management

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also voiced his concerns regarding the management of the AI Summit. He stated that what could have been a remarkable event showcasing India’s advancements in artificial intelligence was marred by significant disorganization. Kharge mentioned that attendees and exhibitors faced “extreme distress” due to inadequate provisions such as food and water during the summit.

Delhi Police Action on Protesters

The Delhi Police responded to the protest by detaining several participants at the Mandapam location. Sources indicate that legal measures against the protesters are currently being initiated. This incident has added fuel to the ongoing discourse surrounding the Congress party’s treatment of governmental affairs, particularly in the context of major international summits.
