Congress leader Pawan Khera has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of inciting violence against the nation’s youth, following the sharing of a controversial social media post from the BJP’s Karnataka team. The post featured a video labelled “Dimaagi Naxals”, which has sparked significant criticism from opposition politicians.

Khera took to the platform X, previously known as Twitter, to express his concerns about the BJP’s new social media approach. He described the transformation as the ruling party opting for more aggressive tactics, stating, “The mask is finally slipping.” Khera suggested that the BJP’s previous communication style, characterised by crude language, was now being replaced by overt threats of violence towards young people.

In his remarks, Khera contended that the BJP has progressed to a point where they openly threaten the youth, implying a drastic shift in their communication methods and strategies. He highlighted the alarming nature of these threats and stressed the potential ramifications for the youth in the country.

Saurav Das Backed Khera’s Sentiments

Saurav Das, the chief spokesperson for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), echoed Khera’s sentiments, labelling the BJP’s post as a direct threat to the youth of India. Das condemned the language used, stating that the ruling party was guilty of calling for violence against young people. On his X account, he remarked, “The ruling party is openly threatening to shoot the country’s youngsters dead! Pure evil. They seem to have lost the plot!”

In another post, Das expressed his dismay at what he referred to as the “world’s largest political party” being driven by hatred. He accused the BJP of inciting a “MASS MURDER of a generation” that seeks to question government policies and advocate for better systems.

Das drew a historical analogy to Nazi Germany, questioning how such inflammatory rhetoric is even acceptable in contemporary India. He expressed deep disappointment, stating, “They truly do not believe in the Constitution. They truly do not believe in the concept of respect and tolerance for each other’s views and opinions.” He lamented the departure from the ideals espoused by India’s founding leaders.

PM Modi’s Notorious I-Day Speech

The controversy arises against the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent Independence Day speech in which he addressed the presence of “dimagi naxals.” It’s a term he used to describe individuals with Maoist ideologies who may still pose a threat to societal harmony. Modi remarked that while the government has largely defeated armed Naxals, it is imperative to identify and isolate those with such “dimagi” inclinations.

The prime minister’s comments have intensified the ongoing political dialogue surrounding the use of terms such as “Naxal” and “anti-national” within political narratives. Modi underscored the need to bring together youth for the development of the nation while dealing with elements he perceives to undermine progress.

The BJP’s current social media strategy, particularly the use of the term “Dimaagi Naxals”, has incited a considerable backlash and debate regarding the state of political discourse in India.
