A substantial seizure took place at Kempegowda International Airport in Karnataka, where customs officers uncovered hydroponic ganja valued at Rs 39.37 lakh hidden within a photo frame carried by a passenger arriving from Bangkok. The incident occurred during routine baggage checks when officials noticed discrepancies in the passenger’s luggage.

Passenger Intercepted and Arrested

Following their suspicions, the customs officials intercepted the individual and proceeded to examine the contents of the luggage. Upon opening what appeared to be a standard photo frame, officers were surprised to find 1.125 kg of hydroponic ganja ingeniously concealed inside. This discovery suggested a calculated effort to avoid detection during transit.

Legal Action Initiated

The passenger was swiftly taken into custody and is currently undergoing inquiries by customs authorities regarding the incident. A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, prompting officials to initiate a comprehensive investigation aiming to uncover the origins of the narcotics and the network involved in the smuggling attempt.
