A deeply distressing incident has shaken residents of a Noida housing complex after a 16-year-old girl employed as a daycare worker was caught on camera physically assaulting a 15-month-old infant. The assault reportedly took place on August 4 at a daycare facility located in the Paras Tierea society in Sector 137.

The toddler’s parents grew suspicious after noticing strange circular marks on her thighs. At first, they suspected an allergy. However, after consulting a doctor, they were horrified to learn that the marks were actually human bite wounds. This prompted them to request access to the daycare’s CCTV footage — what they saw confirmed their worst fears.

The security video captured disturbing scenes: the caretaker is seen slapping the crying child, dropping her on the floor, and even hitting her with a plastic bat. The assault appears to have taken place when the young nanny became irritated by the baby’s persistent crying.

Despite the child’s cries, there was no intervention from the daycare owner, who was present at the time. The parents say that when they confronted the staff, both the caretaker and the head of the daycare responded aggressively. “They verbally abused and threatened us,” the family alleged.

Father Reveals How CCTV Exposed Infant’s Abuse at Noida Daycare

The father of the child, Sandeep, spoke out about the ordeal, explaining how they came to uncover the abuse, “On Monday (August 4), we saw the marks on my daughter’s thighs. Fearing an infection, we went to a doctor, who told us these were bite marks. Then we started investigating. We watched the CCTV footage and found out what happened to our daughter. Then we went to the police,” he said.

The child had only been attending the daycare for two hours a day since May 21. The family paid Rs 2,500 monthly for the service and believed trained teachers would be caring for her. “We were told that there were three teachers and they would handle the child. We never knew the baby would be with the attendant. The owner of the daycare used to tell us, ‘Your child is very happy’,” Sandeep added.

After reviewing the footage, the parents filed a police complaint at Sector 142 police station. Authorities swiftly registered an FIR and confirmed that the child had undergone a medical check-up. The underage caretaker has since been taken into custody.

Interestingly, during questioning, the minor reportedly said that she loved the child and didn’t mean to hurt her. “The accused is a minor and said that she loves the child and did those things out of love,” police stated.

Probe Launched Into Daycare’s Hiring of Minor

Officials have also launched an inquiry into the licensing and hiring practices of the daycare center, which is managed by a woman identified as Charu. The hiring of a minor for such a sensitive role has raised significant concerns about negligence and accountability.

Sandeep, speaking about the emotional toll of the incident, said:
“I want action against the daycare owner and the attendant so that such an incident does not happen with another child. These were very tough days. I could not go to work. My wife could not sleep,” he shared.

Another family residing in the same complex has reportedly come forward, stating their child also experienced mistreatment at the same facility. They are expected to file a formal complaint in the coming days.

Though the daycare had previously not received any formal complaints, this incident has prompted many residents to reevaluate the safety of such services within residential complexes. The facility currently cares for around 40 children.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have indicated that legal action may be taken not just against the caretaker, but also against the daycare management for possible regulatory violations.
