Weather Forecast and Precautions

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the South Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions on November 2 and 3. The forecast indicates that isolated areas in districts such as Krishna, Guntur, Bapatla, Prakasam, Markapuram, and Nellore may experience extremely heavy rainfall. Additionally, significant rainfall is expected in parts of Eluru, East Godavari, West Godavari, NTR, Palnadu, Tirupati, and Chittoor districts.

Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in the Alluri, Polavaram, Kakinada, and Konaseema districts, along with parts of Nandyal, YSR Kadapa, and Annamayya districts. The APSDMA has advised residents to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving situation.

In preparation for the storm, six teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and seven teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed to assist with relief and rescue operations. Local authorities are coordinating efforts to ensure the safety of residents in affected areas.

Government Response and Coordination Efforts

In light of the impending cyclone, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reached out to his counterparts in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, seeking assistance for restoring electricity infrastructure that may be compromised due to the storm. Both Chief Ministers have reportedly agreed to provide necessary personnel and machinery to aid in restoration efforts.

Additionally, personnel from Telangana are already engaged in operations to restore electricity infrastructure damaged by a previous cyclone, Cyclone Arnab. The Andhra Pradesh government has also placed electricity department personnel on standby, ready to respond to potential damage caused by Cyclone Murasu.

As the situation develops, local authorities and disaster management teams are closely monitoring the storm’s progress and are prepared to implement further measures to ensure public safety. Residents are encouraged to stay updated through official channels for the latest information regarding the storm and its potential impact.
