The CSR Journal Magazine

Supporters of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are expressing their desire for him to remain in the state following his announcement to contest the Rajya Sabha elections. On March 6, members of the Janata Dal (United) displayed posters outside the party’s office, urging him to reconsider his decision.

The posters featured messages such as “Nitish sevak kar raha pukaar, neta kare apne nirnaye par poornvichar,” emphasizing that any violation of the people’s mandate or self-respect in a democratic framework would not be accepted.

Nitish Kumar, who has been the Chief Minister of Bihar for more than two decades, announced his intentions to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections the previous day. The 75-year-old leader expressed confidence in the new Cabinet, indicating his unwavering support. On his social media platform, he stated, “I seek to become a member of the Rajya Sabha in the elections being held this time. My relationship with you will continue in the future as well, and my resolve to work together to build a developed Bihar will remain steadfast.”

In addition to Nitish Kumar, other candidates from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) such as Upendra Kushwaha and BJP leader Nitin Nabin have also submitted their nominations for the Upper House. The NDA expressed its support for Kumar’s decision, framing it as a significant contribution to democratic processes.
