Mumbai will witness a prolonged period of low water pressure across several localities as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) undertakes critical water pipeline connection work linked to the Mumbai Metro Line 7A project. The disruption will begin at 10 am on Monday, December 22, 2025, and continue until 1 pm on Friday, December 26, 2025, lasting a total of 99 hours.
Reason for the Water Supply Disruption
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is executing construction work for Metro Line 7A, which requires the diversion of a 2,400 mm diameter Upper Vaitarna main water pipeline. As part of this process, the BMC will carry out technically complex cross-connection works. Civic officials stated that the work is essential for infrastructure development and will be executed with strict safety and engineering standards.
G North Ward (Dharavi Area)
In G North ward, several parts of Dharavi will experience low-pressure water supply during both morning and evening schedules.
Morning supply areas include Dharavi Loop Road, A.K.G. Nagar, Jasmine Mill Road, Matunga Labour Camp, Sant Rohidas Road, 60 Feet Road, 90 Feet Road, Sant Kakeya Road, M.P. Nagar, Dhorwada and Mahatma Gandhi Road.
