Moradabad police have solved a chilling one-and-a-half-year-old murder case that had left the local community in shock. Kaushal, a 27-year-old porter from Majhola in Moradabad district, was found dead on the morning of June 20, 2024, near a temple behind the Linepar Cotton Mill. The post-mortem confirmed he had been shot to death.

Investigations revealed that the murder was not a random act of violence. Kaushal’s wife, Pinky, her lover Suraj, and an accomplice Ajay alias Pramod orchestrated the crime. Police said the murder stemmed from a mix of a secret affair and personal enmity.

A Phone Call That Sealed His Fate

The horrifying murder was triggered by a simple phone call. On the night of June 19, Kaushal had gone to cook food at a local commission agent’s house. Before returning home late, he called his wife Pinky and told her, “I’m coming home.” According to police, Pinky immediately contacted her lover Suraj.

Suraj and Ajay were already lying in wait near the Linepar Cotton Mill. As Kaushal arrived, they shot him at close range and fled the scene. Superintendent of Police (City) Kumar Ranvijay Singh confirmed that this was a premeditated act of murder, meticulously planned by the wife, her lover, and the accomplice.

Affair and Revenge: Motives Behind the Killing

Further investigation revealed multiple motives behind the murder. Ajay, the accomplice, had a longstanding grudge against Kaushal. About a month and a half before the murder, Kaushal had beaten Ajay during a workplace dispute and even fired him, leading Ajay to seek revenge.

Meanwhile, Pinky and Suraj were involved in a secret romantic relationship. Kaushal’s presence was a barrier to their affair, and this added fuel to the deadly plan. Police say the combination of the illicit affair and the personal grudge against Kaushal ultimately led to his brutal killing.

Police Investigation and Judicial Custody

Following Kaushal’s murder, the police meticulously examined call records, location data, and other evidence. Their investigation quickly pointed to Pinky, Suraj, and Ajay as the primary conspirators. The three were arrested and presented in court, where they were remanded to judicial custody.

Authorities confirmed that the murder was fully premeditated and executed with precision. Police are continuing the investigation to determine if any other individuals were involved in planning or assisting the crime.
