Just over a month after his wedding, a 32-year-old man from Telangana was found dead in suspicious circumstances, triggering a criminal investigation that has shocked two states. The body of Tejeswar, a private land surveyor and dance teacher from Rajaveedhinagar in Gadwal Town, was recovered near the HNSS canal at Sugalimetta in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh.
The discovery was made on June 21, four days after Tejeswar had gone missing. Police were able to track his last known location using mobile phone data, which led them to the canal area under Panyam police station limits. His body was later identified and transferred to Gadwal police, who are handling the ongoing investigation.
“This was a jurisdictional handover after locating the body using precise tracking,” said Panyam Circle Inspector Kiran Kumar. He confirmed that further investigation is being carried out by Gadwal authorities.
The case took a dramatic turn as Tejeswar’s family raised serious accusations against his wife, Iswarya, and her mother, Sujatha. According to the victim’s brother, Tejavardhan, Tejeswar had been lured under the guise of a land survey job, only to be killed.
Family Member Warned Tejeshwar About Iswarya’s Affair
“My brother did not heed us and went ahead with the marriage,” a grieving family member recalled, saying they had earlier warned Tejeswar about Iswarya’s alleged romantic involvement with a Kurnool-based bank manager, Tirumala Rao. They further alleged that Sujatha was also personally close to the same man and may have had a role in the plot.
“Her frequent phone calls and secretive chats raised suspicions, but she dismissed them as talks with her mother,” Tejavardhan told investigators. He said the family had become increasingly uneasy in the days leading up to Tejeswar’s disappearance.
Iswarya and her mother have since been taken into custody for interrogation. However, police have not officially confirmed their involvement. “We’re investigating all possibilities, including financial disputes or personal motives,” said Gadwal Circle Inspector T Srinivas. “CCTV footage helped identify a car linked to the crime,” he added, noting that both the driver and owner of the vehicle are currently being questioned.
Tejeswar and Iswarya were married on May 18, in what was reportedly a love marriage. The couple’s relationship had earlier faced delays—family sources said their wedding was originally set for February but was postponed when Iswarya went missing for a brief period. She later reappeared and insisted on marrying Tejeswar, which he agreed to despite family objections.
CCTV Footages Captured Tejeswar’s Car
In addition to the physical evidence, surveillance videos confirmed that Tejeswar had travelled in a car toward Kurnool. The vehicle was later tracked crossing the Nannur checkpost and returning, further strengthening suspicions around his final movements.
This shocking murder comes close on the heels of another high-profile case involving Raja Raghuvanshi from Indore, who was allegedly killed by his wife during their honeymoon. Raja’s dismembered body was discovered in a gorge in Meghalaya on June 2, after he went missing in late May. His wife Sonam was arrested after reportedly conspiring with a lover, drawing disturbing parallels to the Tejeswar case.
Back in Telangana, the Gadwal community remains in disbelief. A promising professional and popular dance instructor, Tejeswar’s murder has left behind unanswered questions—and a grieving family determined to seek justice
