Manipur Woman Stabs South Korean Boyfriend To Death in Noida Flat

The CSR Journal Magazine

A late-night drinking session inside a luxury apartment in Greater Noida ended in tragedy after a South Korean national was found dead with stab injuries, allegedly inflicted by his live-in partner. The incident came to light on Sunday when the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital informed the police that a foreign national had been brought in dead.

Victim Identified, Police Alerted

The deceased was identified as Duck Hee Yuh, a 47-year-old South Korean citizen residing at ATS Pious Hideaways in Sector 150 of Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Yuh, who had been working in India for nearly a decade, was employed as a branch manager with a reputed mobile phone and logistics company in Greater Noida. Hospital authorities alerted the Knowledge Park police station immediately after doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Live-in Partner Under Scanner

Police investigations revealed that Yuh was brought to the hospital by his live-in partner, Lunjeana Pamai, a 22-year-old woman from Bishnupur district in Manipur. The couple had reportedly been in a live-in relationship for around two years and were sharing the apartment where the incident took place. Pamai was taken into custody for questioning soon after the incident.

According to senior police officials, a heated argument broke out between the couple during a prolonged drinking session that began on Saturday and continued into the early hours of Sunday. Pamai allegedly told investigators that Yuh had been consuming alcohol heavily, became aggressive, and assaulted her during the altercation. In the heat of the moment, she allegedly stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

Hospital Rush and Arrest

After the incident, Pamai reportedly contacted Yuh’s driver, who helped rush him to GIMS Hospital along with an ambulance. By the time they arrived, Yuh had succumbed to his injuries. Police said Pamai remained at the hospital initially but was later arrested after preliminary questioning. She claimed that she had no intention to kill him and acted out of frustration. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman allegedly stabbed the man with a knife,” police said.

“A team reached the hospital and learnt that the South Korean national was in a live-in relationship with his girlfriend for the past two years,” said Sudheer Kumar, ADCP (Greater Noida).

“According to her, Pamai tried to stop him from drinking between 3 am and 4 am. She asked him to have dinner and go off to sleep. But Hee became aggressive, which led to a heated argument between the two. It soon escalated into a physical fight, and Hee thrashed Pamai badly. In retaliation, she picked up a knife from the dining table and stabbed Hee a number of times in the chest,” the officer said.

“She asked him to come to the flat. When Singh arrived early in the morning, Pamai told him everything. Singh called an ambulance and took Hee to the hospital along with Pamai. By the time they reached GIMS, Hee had died. When his girlfriend came to know about Hee’s death, she quietly left the hospital without informing anyone,” the ADCP said.

Case Registered, Probe Ongoing

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Knowledge Park police station. The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have informed Yuh’s family in South Korea, who are expected to travel to India. Further investigation is underway.
