A shocking incident unfolded on Sunday in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district, where a man reportedly chased and killed his estranged wife at a bus station in broad daylight. The accused, identified as Sudhakar from Palamadai, is believed to have attacked Pechiyammal while she was on her way to work. The couple, who have two children, had been living separately due to marital discord.

Confrontation at Sandipu Bus Stand

According to initial reports, Sudhakar followed Pechiyammal to the Sandipu bus stand, where he seized an opportunity to confront her. Eyewitnesses claim that upon her arrival, Sudhakar produced a sickle and began chasing her. He allegedly assaulted her multiple times in public view, leading to her immediate death.

Police Response and Investigation

Authorities were alerted to the scene shortly after the assault occurred. Police recovered Pechiyammal’s body, which has since been sent for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation. Initial inquiries suggest that Sudhakar may have been motivated by suspicions regarding his wife’s involvement in an extramarital relationship.

Accused Surrenders to Police

Following the attack, Sudhakar entered a nearby police station and surrendered himself to the authorities. He is currently in custody as police begin a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Detectives are continuing their inquiries, questioning the accused and gathering evidence related to the case.
