A teenager in Lucknow has been taken into custody following his confession to the murder of his mother. The 17-year-old boy reportedly struck his 42-year-old mother multiple times with a wrench, resulting in her death. This tragic incident occurred around 9 pm on Thursday at their residence. The boy had been living separately from his parents due to ongoing disputes regarding his sexual orientation.

Family Background and Relationship Dynamics

The family has faced significant challenges related to the teen’s homosexuality, which has reportedly been a source of frequent arguments between mother and son. To mitigate social stigma, the family had made the decision to allow the minor to live away from home. Approximately four months prior to the incident, they rented a separate room for him, located about 1.5 km from their primary residence.

According to reports, the boy’s father, who works as a clothes trader, noted that their son had been dealing with mental health issues for an extended period. He had received treatment at various hospitals for these concerns. The parents continued to support him financially, sending him money each month to cover his living expenses.

Details of the Incident

On the night the incident occurred, the teenager expressed a desire to meet with his mother. His father subsequently invited him home, unaware of the confrontation that was to follow. Once at the apartment, a dispute erupted between the boy and his mother regarding unspecified matters. It was during this argument that the teenager reportedly attacked her with the wrench, causing her immediate death.

After the incident, the teenager made contact with his father as well as the authorities, voluntarily reporting the killing. Senior police officials, including the local Deputy Commissioner of Police, arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.
