Kochi, Coimbatore, Vizag Emerging Strong in AI Adoption for Intimacy

The CSR Journal Magazine

A recent survey indicates that Kochi, Coimbatore, and Vizag are increasingly embracing artificial intelligence (AI) in discussions related to love, sex, and relationships. Contrary to the belief that only Tier 1 cities exhibit a comfort level with AI intimacy, these smaller cities are reportedly making significant strides in this area, suggesting a broader acceptance of digital intimacy across India.

The data stems from a Gleeden-Ipsos survey, which included 1,500 respondents nationwide, providing insights into the comfort and willingness of Indians to utilise AI for various aspects of sexual education and relationship advice. This growing trend also suggests that conversations around AI and intimacy are rapidly becoming mainstream beyond major urban centres.

Among the Tier 1 cities, Bengaluru remains a frontrunner, with nearly 77 per cent of participants expressing a willingness to use AI for sex education and sexual health information. Furthermore, 75 per cent indicated they would turn to AI to enhance their erotic skills, while 67 per cent were open to discussing sexual fantasies or intimate queries with AI tools.

Vizag Leading the Charge

Notably, Vizag stands out as a strong competitor, with 62 per cent of respondents affirming their readiness to utilise AI for sexual education and health-related inquiries. Additionally, 60 per cent said they were open to engaging in erotic text conversations powered by AI. The willingness to explore AI-generated visual content related to fantasies was expressed by 58 per cent of participants, while 53 per cent felt comfortable discussing their sexual fantasies with AI.

This shift in attitude among respondents in smaller cities points to an evolving understanding and acceptance of AI as a tool for facilitating private conversations about intimate topics. The acceptance rates in Vizag highlight a significant trend, suggesting that technology is permeating traditional boundaries concerning discussions of sexuality.

Coimbatore shows similar enthusiasm, with half of the surveyed individuals (50 per cent) willing to consult AI for sexual education. Furthermore, 52 per cent indicated a comfort level in discussing intimate subjects or fantasies, while 49 per cent showed interest in addressing concerns related to sexual wellbeing through AI channels.

Kochi Reflects Changing Attitudes Towards AI Intimacy

Kochi, while recording slightly lower percentages, still demonstrates a notable shift in attitudes. Approximately 45 per cent of respondents expressed their willingness to engage in erotic conversations or discuss sexual fantasies using AI, while 43 per cent indicated they would seek guidance on sexual health matters through these technologies.

The findings also highlight a cultural transformation whereby conversations around intimacy, often considered taboo, are gradually becoming more accepted in a digital context across various cities, not just limited to metropolitan areas.

Reflecting on this development, the notion of AI intimacy that seemed distant when the film “Her” premiered in 2013 is now materialising in contemporary society. This evolution in societal attitudes marks a significant shift towards greater openness and engagement with technology in personal and intimate realms.
