Kia Seltos reaches 600,000 sales in India since 2019, reflecting strong demand for mid-SUV models and premium features.

The CSR Journal Magazine

Kia India has revealed that the Seltos has surpassed the impressive milestone of 600,000 cumulative sales since its launch in 2019. This achievement highlights the model’s ongoing popularity and its pivotal role in the company’s portfolio. The sales figures indicate a strong demand across different variants and regions within the country. Notably, it has been observed that nearly 29 percent of total sales are attributed to the higher trim levels, demonstrating a shift among consumers towards vehicles with premium features, advanced safety measures, and superior in-car technology in the competitive mid-SUV market.

Enhancements Strengthen Market Position

Over the years, Kia has continuously upgraded the Seltos by integrating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), improving connectivity options, and expanding the safety features available. The diverse range of variants ensures that the Seltos caters to both budget-conscious buyers and those transitioning from hatchbacks, sedans, and compact SUVs in pursuit of a more premium driving experience. In light of this milestone, Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, expressed that achieving 600,000 sales demonstrates a sustained preference among customers for a vehicle that excels in design, safety, technology, and performance. The notable interest in higher trims illustrates increasing consumer confidence in advanced safety technologies and connectivity options.

New-Generation Seltos Set to Elevate Brand Position

Continuing this legacy, the new-generation Seltos is poised to enhance Kia’s standing in the mid-SUV category. This model boasts a class-leading length of 4,460 mm and a width of 1,830 mm, accompanied by a longer wheelbase of 2,690 mm, which contributes to a commanding road presence and improved interior space. Built on Kia’s K3 platform, the new Seltos features a bold exterior design characterized by the revised Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube LED headlights, and connected LED taillights.

Interior Overhaul with Advanced Features

The cabin of the new Seltos sees a significant redesign, with a key highlight being the Trinity Panoramic Display, which seamlessly integrates two 12.3-inch screens into a cohesive digital interface. Other premium elements include ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with a memory function, dual-zone climate control with a dedicated touchscreen, 64-color ambient lighting, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Practicality remains a key attribute, featuring a 447-liter boot and flexible 60:40 split rear seating arrangement.

Diverse Powertrain Options with Enhanced Safety Features

Kia continues to provide multiple engine choices for the Seltos: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel variant. These engines can be paired with a variety of transmission options, which include manual, CVT, iMT, 7DCT, and 6AT, depending on the selected variant. All versions are front-wheel drive and equipped with all-wheel disc brakes. On the safety front, standard features include six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist, ISOFIX mounts, and tyre pressure monitoring. Higher variants come with a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite featuring 21 functions dedicated to collision avoidance, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go for automatic models.
