Jacob & Co Unveils ₹12-Crore Vantara-Inspired Watch Custom-Made for Anant Ambani

A watch may appear to be a simple blend of strap and dial, but in the world of high luxury, it can become a canvas of storytelling. American luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co has unveiled one such masterpiece, the Opera Vantara Green Camo, a one-of-a-kind timepiece inspired by Anant Ambani and his wildlife conservation initiative, Vantara.

A Tribute to Wildlife Conservation

The watch is a horological tribute to the Vantara Global Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre in Gujarat, spearheaded by Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani.

Known for his deep passion for luxury watches, Anant Ambani is both a collector and a connoisseur, often styling rare pieces and even gifting luxury watches to his groomsmen during his wedding. This time, however, a brand chose to honour him with a creation inspired by his vision.

A Dial That Tells a Story

At the centre of the dial stands a hand-painted figurine of Anant Ambani, symbolising his leadership in conservation. Flanking him are two iconic animals,  a lion and a Bengal tiger, representing India’s rich wildlife heritage. The visual narrative reflects themes of protection, stewardship, and responsibility, which form the foundation of the Vantara initiative.

Crafted with Nearly 400 Gemstones

The green camouflage backdrop is meticulously crafted using 397 hand-set gemstones, totalling 21.98 carats. The design features dazzling demantoid garnets, rich tsavorites, subtle green sapphires, and contrasting white diamonds, creating a layered, textured masterpiece that blends art with precision engineering.

Price and Brand Philosophy

While Jacob & Co has not officially revealed the price, reports estimate the watch to be valued at around $1.5 million (approximately ₹12 crore). Brand founder Jacob Arabo stated that his goal has always been to create pieces that redefine what is possible in watchmaking.

Known for collaborations with global icons like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Rihanna, and Salman Khan, the brand continues to push creative boundaries.
