Indian Railways launches RailOne app as a one-stop solution book tickets, check PNR status, order food and other services

In an attempt to enhance convenience and comfort of passengers, Indian Railways launched RailOne, a unique one-stop solution app for all passengers on Tuesday. The app offers 3% discount on platform tickets, Unreserved tickets Direct login with UTS ID, Live train status Real time information in app, E-catering Order directly from app, Porter booking possible in advance at station, Taxi facility, Last mile connectivity, Better complaint redressal and Link for quick resolution.

The app was launched by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on the occasion of the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), which designs, develops, implements, and maintains key information systems for Indian Railways.

“It not only houses all the services in one place but also provides integrated connectivity between services, giving the user a holistic package of Indian Railways services,” the Railway ministry said.

RailOne available on Android and iOS and how the app works

The comprehensive, all-in-one application with a user-friendly interface is available on Android Play Store and iOS App Store. RailOne features a single-sign-on with login via mPIN or biometric. It also supports existing RailConnect & UTS credentials. The app is space-saving, as there is no need to install multiple apps.

RailOne also features a single sign-on facility, so users will not have to remember multiple passwords.

What services can passengers avail on RailOne app?

The RailOne app offers passenger services such as:
Unreserved and platform tickets with 3% discount
Live train tracking
Grievance redressal
Order food via E-catering
Porter booking
Last-mile taxi
RailOne app has also been authorised by IRCTC just like many other commercial apps who have partnered with IRCTC. However, reserved tickets will continue to be offered on IRCTC.

New Passenger Reservation System (PRS)

Along with the RailOne app, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also announced that the new Passenger Reservation System (PRS) of Railways will be launched by December 2025. This new system will be multilingual, will be able to book 1.5 lakh tickets every minute, will be able to handle 40 lakh inquiries per minute, passengers will get advanced features like seat selection, fare calendar, and special options for Divyangjan, students, patients.

Indian Railways to bring about major changes

Indian Railways is bringing about several changes to enhance comfort and convenience of passengers. According to the Ministry, these measures reflect the Railways’ continuous efforts to modernise its systems and make them more citizen-friendly.

Now reservation charts will be prepared eight hours in advance for long-distance trains according to an announcement by the Ministry of Railways.

Ticket operations will also undergo a major revamp. Railways is planning to bring about a new procedure for booking tatkal train tickets, and the overall upgradation of the passenger reservation system. Railways will allow only authenticated users to book Tatkal tickets on the IRCTC website and its mobile app beginning 1st July, 2025. OTP-based authentication will be done for Tatkal bookings from the end of July.
