Dilip Ghosh Confident of BJP Forming Government in West Bengal, Criticizes TMC Leadership

The CSR Journal Magazine

Dilip Ghosh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Kharagpur Sadar, expressed strong confidence regarding his party’s chances in the forthcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections. During a rally in Paschim Medinipur on March 27, Ghosh targeted the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), asserting his commitment to combat organized crime in the region. He stated that although the BJP did not achieve a majority in the last elections, this time, they intend to establish a government in the state.

Reassurance to Voters Amid Threats

Speaking to attendees, Ghosh emphasized his resilience in politics despite facing threats. He claimed that voters in Kharagpur have shown their trust in him previously and would continue to support him. He mentioned his ongoing fight against local criminals and assured attendees that the political landscape would change dramatically following the elections on May 4. Ghosh referred to the police’s alleged complicity with criminal elements, promising a shift in law enforcement strategies similar to those employed in Uttar Pradesh.

Targeting Minority Voters

Ghosh also leveled accusations against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that she has failed to provide justice to the Muslim community in the state. He urged voters from this demographic to reconsider their support for the current administration. Ghosh remarked that even parties that advocate for Muslim rights are beginning to acknowledge that Banerjee has not fulfilled her promises, posing a challenge for her leadership.

Elevating Campaign Strategies

As the political atmosphere intensifies, the BJP is focusing on minority welfare and development as pivotal campaign issues. In line with this strategy, Ghosh announced the party’s initiative named “Bikosito Paschim Banga Sankalp Patra, Paramarsha Sangraha Abhiyan.” This outreach aims to engage citizens at the grassroots level and collect suggestions to shape the party’s manifesto. The initiative aspires to provide a comprehensive vision for the future, addressing sectors from agriculture to youth startups.

Methodology for Public Engagement

Under the initiative, the BJP encourages the public to submit ideas through various channels, including a dedicated phone number, email, and QR code for direct correspondence. Additionally, aspiration boxes for handwritten proposals have been established in each district, enhancing opportunities for citizen engagement in the political dialogue.

Candidate Announcements and Election Timeline

Continuing its preparations for the elections, the BJP unveiled its third list of candidates on March 26, presenting 19 individuals in key constituencies. This strategy sets the stage for a competitive battle against the TMC, which currently governs all 294 constituencies in the state. The West Bengal elections will be conducted in two phases on April 23 and April 29, while the counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.
