The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a public advisory regarding the rescheduling of the National Lok Adalat, which was initially set for September 12, 2026. The new date for the Lok Adalat is now October 10, 2026. This adjustment has been made ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit to ensure smooth traffic and court operations in the capital.

In their announcement on X, the Traffic Police provided specific details regarding the adjustments related to court hearings. They indicated that September 11 will be regarded as a holiday, and any hearings scheduled for that date will now take place on October 3. Similarly, hearings planned for September 12 have been rescheduled to November 14. Cases that were to be heard on September 11-12 will now be addressed on September 14.

In the advisory, the Delhi Traffic Police urged citizens visiting the courts to check the new dates and avoid unnecessary trips, reminding them to plan accordingly. They emphasised the importance of efficient travel as the city prepares for the significant international event.

Preparations for BRICS Summit 2026 Underway

The capital city is currently undergoing extensive preparations to host the BRICS Summit on September 12-13, 2026.
