The CSR Journal Magazine

A three-year-old child who was reported missing from GGS Hospital in Delhi was safely located in Munger, Bihar, following a police chase that exceeded 1,000 km. The investigation began when the child’s mother contacted the police on August 27, stating she had stepped out to obtain medicines, during which her son was playing nearby. After realising he was missing and failing to locate him, the family made a PCR call to report the incident.

The Delhi police swiftly registered a First Information Report (FIR) to initiate a comprehensive investigation. The officers reviewed CCTV footage from GGS Hospital and its surrounding areas, which revealed a woman allegedly leaving the premises with the child.

Using technical methods, local intelligence, and CCTV analysis, investigators followed the woman’s movements, indicating she had travelled towards Madipur Village in an e-rickshaw. This information proved critical for the police in tracking both the suspect and the kidnapped child.

Identification and Tracking of the Suspected Abductor

Through diligent local inquiries, police identified the woman as a 31-year-old currently living in Madipur, Delhi. Further investigations uncovered that she had left for her native village in Bihar shortly after the incident. Prompted by the development, the police acted swiftly based on technical inputs to reach Munger in Bihar.

Upon arrival, the police conducted a raid that successfully resulted in the safe recovery of the child. The officers provided immediate protection to the boy, ensuring his safety during the operation. In addition to recovering the child, the police apprehended the woman and brought her into custody for questioning.

During her interrogation, the woman reportedly claimed to be a mother of six daughters. Due to medical complications that prevented her from having more children, she expressed a desire to raise the kidnapped boy as her own son. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her actions further.

Safe Reunion of the Child With His Family

Following the child’s recovery, the police facilitated his return to Delhi, where he was reunited with his family. This successful operation marked a significant achievement for the police, showcasing their commitment to ensuring the safety of children and responding swiftly to incidents of abduction.

Throughout the investigation, the police employed various strategies, including surveillance and ground enquiries, to ensure that the child was located as promptly as possible. Their thorough approach exemplifies effective law enforcement practices and reflects the importance of community vigilance during such critical situations.

Authorities are continuing to assess the case as they gather further evidence and statements from the involved parties. The community’s support and cooperation reportedly played a vital role in the swift resolution of this incident.
