Delhi Police Crack ISI-Linked Arms Smuggling Network Supplying Gangs in NCR

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Delhi Police have successfully busted a transnational arms-smuggling operation that was supplying high-end firearms manufactured in China and Turkey to notorious gangs operating in the National Capital Region and neighboring states. The racket was reportedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and was supplying weapons to gangsters associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, and Gogi Himanshu Bhai.

Drones Used to Smuggle Weapons into India

Investigations revealed that the smuggling syndicate employed drones to transport weapons across the border from Pakistan into Punjab. From there, gang members collected the consignments and distributed them to criminal networks across Delhi and surrounding regions. Police were prompted to act after receiving credible information about smugglers planning to deliver weapons in the capital.

Arrests and Firearms Seized

A total of four suspects were arrested in connection with the racket. They include Mandeep from Phillaur, Dalwinder from Ludhiana, Rohan Tomar from Baghpat, and Ajay, also known as Monu. During raids in Rohini, police recovered a substantial cache of arms, which included 10 foreign-made pistols—five from Turkey and three from China—along with 92 live cartridges.

“Delhi Police Crime Branch team has busted an arms gang being operated by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Total four people have been arrested and 10 sophisticated pistols have been recovered. Five pistols are made in Turkey and three made in China,” said CP Crime Surender Kumar.

He further explained that Mandeep and Dalwinder were arrested on November 19 while on their way to deliver weapons in Rohini. Subsequent interrogation led to the arrest of the other two individuals and recovery of additional firearms.

Links to Organised Crime

Police investigations indicate that the weapons were being supplied to gangsters in Delhi and adjoining states. The main operator of the network, identified as Jaspreet alias Jassa and based in the US, reportedly coordinated with handlers in Pakistan. Authorities are examining mobile phone records, bank transactions, and social media activity to trace the complete network of suppliers and recipients.

Heightened Security After Red Fort Blast

The crackdown comes in the wake of the Red Fort blast on November 10, in which a Hyundai i20, allegedly carrying a suicide bomber, detonated near the historic site, killing at least 14 people and injuring over 20. The attack was officially classified as a terrorist act.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Police had dismantled an interstate “white-collar” terror module linked to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed and al-Qaeda-affiliated Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, seizing 2,900 kilograms of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, reportedly intended for use in the Delhi blast.

Delhi Police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full scale of the arms network, its distribution channels, and any possible links to terrorist activity or organised crime in the region.
