Danfoss India donates oxygen plant to Kancheepuram hospital

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu: Danfoss has donated a 250 LPM Oxygen Plant to the Kancheepuram District Government Hospital, Tamil Nadu. Dr. M. Aarthi I.A.S., District Collector, Kancheepuram inaugurated the oxygen plant in the presence of Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, Martin Rossen, Sr. Vice President, Danfoss – Group Communication & Sustainability, Thiru. Sivarudraiyya, District Revenue Officer, dignitaries from the govt., hospital and Danfoss.
The oxygen plant will cater to an additional 50-80 oxygen beds capacity of this hospital. Kancheepuram is among the top affected districts in the state where the number of COVID-19 cases have been increasing continuously.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, emphasized the organization’s focused CSR strategy to be a responsible corporate citizen to support the national and state government’s welfare initiatives towards local communities. He said, “It is engineered in our DNA to care for our people and the society. The pandemic has accentuated the need to build and improve our emergency healthcare infrastructure. It gives us immense satisfaction to be a part of this collective fight against the global COVID-19 pandemic.”
Martin Rossen, Senior Vice President, Head of Group Communication & Sustainability, said, “The oxygen plant will boost the healthcare infrastructure and will be of help to the adjoining communities. As a part of Danfoss’ ESG commitments, our aim is to ascertain and implement sustainable initiatives that have an ongoing direct impact on the local communities in which Danfoss operates. During peak of COVID-19, Danfoss global worked with organizations like Indo-Danish Chamber of Commerce (IDCC), Embassy of Denmark to support the unprecedented situation in India.”
Danfoss India donated around 40 Lakh as its contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in two phases. Additional 10 Lakh was given for the state vaccination drive and worked on an industry task force along with the Tamil Nadu government to procure and distribute 3000+ oxygen cylinders across hospitals in the state.
Danfoss Global has contributed up to 100,000 Danish kroner towards the procurement and delivery of essential materials like oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and other relief material to support India’s fight against COVID- 19.
