According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), the level of fundamental learning skills in underprivileged children is very low owing to absence of basic education infrastructure. To bridge this gap, on the occasion of Children’s day, Pearson India, leading digital learning company has partnered with Robin Hood Army under their CSR initiative to affirm their commitment towards society and to create a positive change.

Under the initiative, Pearson India has donated 10,000 bags and pencil boxes across Delhi NCR, Indore, Sonipat, Lucknow, and Bangalore to make basic educational amenities easily accessible to thousands of under privileged children. The purpose of the partnership is to impart better educational facilities to children and stimulate their interest in learning.

Commenting on this, Ramesh Subbarao, Vice President, Portfolio, Pearson India, said, “A school bag serves more than just a sack for carrying things. Rather, for young children, it is a gift of knowledge. While global demand for education is rising and technology is improving access and affordability, inequality remains a worldwide problem. Thousands of underprivileged students in our country cannot even afford basic necessities like school bags and hence we deem this initiative to be the best gift for these children. Our collaboration with Robin Hood Army is a consequence of Pearson’s commitment to provide them with a brighter and promising future, creating a better learning environment.”

Ambuj Ahuja, Corporate Partnerships, Robin Hood Army, said, “Education is the backbone of our country and it gives us great pleasure to have Pearson as our partner for this noble cause and enabling the children realize their dreams of a better future.”
