Varanasi, India: Motul India, a leading Manufacturer of premium, high-performance engine & industrial lubricants in India launches Motul Sehat Ki Samriddhi- its CSR initiative. The initiative aimed at enhancing primary healthcare access for auto mechanics, their dependents, and other community members, is set to launch the initiative with camps in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Ludhiana on 25th June 2024. These are the first of an extensive series of health check-up camps across 20 cities in India. Spearheaded by Motul India, in collaboration with Smile Foundation, the initiative will run from June 2024 to March 2025, covering key regions in Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
The initiative focuses on delivering essential healthcare services to communities with limited access to medical care while alleviating the strain on government health services. Over the next 9 months, approximately 16,000 beneficiaries will receive comprehensive medical attention through 80 health camps. This would significantly reduce their out-of-pocket expenses, enhance accessibility to doorstep healthcare services, and encourage overall healthier living behavior among community members.
Nagendra Pai, CEO of Motul India & South Asia, said, “With Sehat ki Samriddhi, our aim is to nurture the well-being of auto mechanics and their families across the nation. We aspire to create a noticeable impact in their lives regarding access to healthcare services, beginning in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Ludhiana. Together with Smile Foundation, with their expertise in implementing impactful social projects, we envision to inculcate health-caring behaviour in the community who are the backbone of auto industry. “
Puneet Bali, Executive Director, Smile Foundation said, “At Smile Foundation, we believe in the power of partnerships to create positive change. Our collaboration with Motul for the Sehat Ki Samriddhi initiative is a prime example. Through this partnership, we’re reaching out to an important member group of the automobile industry supply chain – auto mechanics and their families, ensuring they have access to quality healthcare services. Together, we’re making a difference.”
Key activities of the project include identifying and deploying qualified medical and paramedical staff, and mobilizing the community with the support of local dealers, retailers, and sales teams. The initiative will also organize Smile health camps, provide referral services, distribute first aid kits, and conduct regular monitoring and reporting to ensure the project’s success.
