CSR News: Child Heart Foundation Marks World Heart Day 2025 with Heart Warriors and Families

The CSR Journal Magazine

New Delhi, India: Child Heart Foundation (CHF) observed World Heart Day 2025 on Monday at Panchsheel Club, New Delhi, under the theme “Protecting Little Hearts, Building Healthy Futures.” The event brought together children supported by the foundation, their families, pediatric specialists, hospital leaders, corporate partners, and volunteers for an evening that blended reflection with celebration.

The programme began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Vikas Kohli, Founder Trustee of CHF, who shared the foundation’s journey since its inception in 2013. Over the past decade, CHF has supported treatment for more than 780 children with congenital heart disease (CHD), screened over 15,000 children, provided fetal echocardiography to more than 5,000 expectant mothers, and donated echocardiography machines to district hospitals in Delhi.

The Guests of Honor — Rtn Mr. Anil Agarwal, (Ex President Rotary District 3011), Ms. Sneh Daheriya, (Trustee PTC Foundation) and Mr. Pratyush Panda (CEO One Stage) — spoke about CHF’s work and underlined the role of community support in improving child health.

Later, families of Heart Warriors shared their experiences, reminding the audience of how timely care can change the course of a child’s life.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Vikas Kohli said, “Every story we heard today reaffirms our mission that no child should be denied care because of financial constraints. Our Heart Warriors remind us that with early detection and timely treatment, we can change the course of a child’s life.”

The Chief Guest, Rtn Mr. Ajeet Jalan (DG Elect, Rotary District 3011), added, “The courage of these children and the dedication of their families is deeply moving. The Child Heart Foundation has shown what collective effort can achieve, and it is now up to all of us — medical professionals, policymakers, and the wider community — to ensure that every child with a heart condition receives the care they deserve.”

The evening also featured a lively performance by SRCC’s volunteer band ‘Benaam’, an address by, and engaging activities for children. The cake-cutting was a highlight of the evening. For many children, it marked what they call their ‘second birthday’ — a reminder of the new life they received after treatment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, presentation of mementos, distribution of gifts to children, and high tea, offering space for dialogue among families, doctors, and partners.
