Couple Found Dead in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh; Investigation Ongoing, Circumstances Remain Unclear

The CSR Journal Magazine

A couple was discovered dead in separate locations across Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, prompting a detailed investigation by local authorities. The husband, identified as Chhotu, was located hanging from a tree in a forest, while the wife, Sushma, was found deceased near the Ganga river. Their mysterious deaths have raised numerous questions regarding the events leading up to their demise. Both individuals had been reported missing on September 14, 2026, a day before their bodies were located.

Authorities initiated a search operation after a missing persons report was filed, which involved local residents aiding the police. However, the search had to be suspended overnight due to heavy rain that hampered visibility. The search resumed on the morning of September 15, when police received information regarding a woman’s body discovered near the riverbank.

Upon reaching the riverfront, officers confirmed the identity of the woman as Sushma. Shortly after, a search led to the discovery of Chhotu’s body hanging in nearby woods. The fact that the bodies were found in two distinct locations is critical to the ongoing investigation as authorities attempt to determine the last known whereabouts of the couple.

Unusual Circumstances Surrounding the Corpses

Additional peculiar details have surfaced during the investigation, particularly concerning Chhotu’s attire. It has been reported that he was found wearing his wife’s salwar, while both bodies were allegedly in a half-naked state. Authorities are scrutinizing these elements in an effort to understand what transpired prior to their deaths.

Investigators are specifically examining whether there had been any prior conflicts between the couple or if other external factors could have played a role in their tragic end. Nonetheless, the police have cautioned against making any conclusions based solely on the physical condition of the bodies discovered. The examination is ongoing to uncover any relevant evidence.

Authorities are also trying to establish a clear timeline to ascertain the couple’s activities leading up to their disappearance. The investigation is being prioritised to determine any motives, disputes, or pertinent information that may have contributed to this incident.

Forensic Analysis Conducted at Both Locations

A forensic team was deployed to gather evidence from both sites where the bodies were found, as corroborating physical evidence is deemed essential for the investigation. This includes the collection of samples and details that may assist in understanding the circumstances surrounding the deaths more clearly.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem examinations, and the police expect crucial information regarding the cause of death in the upcoming reports. These autopsy conclusions will play an instrumental role in guiding the future course of the investigation and any potential legal actions that might arise.

Senior police official Muniraj visited the scene on Tuesday evening to oversee the ongoing investigation. He engaged with officers to gather updates regarding the evidence collected thus far and the next steps in the inquiry. The police are committed to reconstructing the timeline from when the couple went missing until the discovery of their remains, ensuring that all angles are considered in this complex case.
