The team’s outstanding performance was highlighted by key contributions from players such as Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, and Sree Charani.

Sree Charani exhibited exceptional bowling skills during the final match, capturing four wickets and ending the tournament with a total of 12 wickets. Her remarkable performance has propelled her to new heights in the latest rankings update.

Charani’s consistent performance has solidified her position, making Deepti Sharma her closest competitor in the rankings. Sharma has achieved a rise of four spots, securing second place thanks to her performance during the Asia Cup, where she claimed 14 wickets, including a pivotal spell of 3/19 in the final match.

The achievements of Charani and Sharma reflect India’s impressive standing in women’s T20I cricket, as both players are now regarded as prominent figures in the global bowling landscape.

Improvements Among Indian Batters

Alongside the bowling successes, India has also seen advancements in its batting ranks. Shafali Verma made a notable ascent to sixth place in the T20I batting rankings after scoring a tournament-high 236 runs with an average of 47.20. Her outstanding performance has also contributed to her rise in the T20I all-rounder rankings, where she moved up five places to 15th position.

The current leader in the T20I batting rankings remains the Australian pair Beth Mooney and Georgia Voll. However, several other players have made significant progress following their performances in the Asia Cup. This includes Nigar Sultana moving up one place to jointly hold the 20th position, while Imesha Dulani also climbed two spots to share the same ranking.

Additionally, other players such as Sharmin Akhter Supta and Shawaal Zulfiqar have improved their standings, progressing to the 40th and 45th ranks, respectively. The Asia Cup has proven to be a catalyst for improvement among various players, highlighting the competitive nature of women’s cricket in the region.

Bangladesh Players Benefit from Asia Cup Performances

The rankings update also reflects notable gains for several Bangladeshi players in the T20I bowling category. Marufa Akter has ascended three places, now positioned at joint 15th, while Rabeya Khan has also advanced by three rungs to occupy the 18th spot. Additionally, Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun have made impressive strides, climbing five and six spots, respectively.

These developments indicate that performances in the Asia Cup have had a significant impact on the rankings of players from various nations, with both Indian and Bangladeshi cricketers making notable advancements.
