BAUMA CONEXPO 2026: JK Tyre Expands OTR Portfolio with Four New Heavy-Duty Models

The CSR Journal Magazine

JK Tyre has launched four new off-the-road (OTR) tyre models specifically designed for applications in construction, material handling, and mining. The unveiling occurred at the BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2026 event in Greater Noida. This introduction adds significant value to the OTR tyre portfolio of the company, aimed at enhancing equipment performance in challenging environments.

The newly unveiled tyres cater to a diverse range of machinery, including self-loading concrete mixers (SLCMs), backhoe loaders, telehandlers, and mining tippers. Each model has been developed with specific operational requirements in mind, addressing the unique challenges faced in construction and mining operations.

The tyre models include the 12.580-18 MPT 45 16PR TL designed for SLCMs and backhoe loaders, the 1670-20 MPT117 14PR TL for SLCMs and telehandlers, the 18-19.5 MPT117 18PR TL specifically for SLCMs, and the 12.00R20 JDO XD OTR 22PR 156153F TT tailored for mining tippers. These products underscore JK Tyre’s commitment to meeting the demands of the evolving machinery market.

Features of the New Tyres

The MPT 45 tyre has been engineered for mixed-terrain applications, featuring a tread pattern that enhances traction and stability while ensuring even wear. This makes it suitable for use in construction equipment, particularly for SLCMs and backhoe loaders, where reliable performance is critical.

In contrast, the MPT117 range is focused on offering superior grip, durability, and manoeuvrability. This line is designed for construction and material-handling equipment specifically for SLCMs and telehandlers. Additionally, the introduction of the 18-19.5 MPT117 highlights the company’s focus on addressing the specific needs of the SLCM applications.

For the mining sector, the JDO XD has been purpose-built for mining tippers operating under rigorous conditions. Its heavy-duty construction and reinforced casing are aimed at enhancing resilience against cuts, chips, and abrasions while facilitating a higher load-carrying capability. This offering is expected to significantly benefit operators dealing with harsh mining environments.

Strategic Goals and Market Positioning

JK Tyre states that the new tyre lines have been developed keeping Indian operational conditions in mind. There is a strong emphasis on durability, load capacity, and an extended service life, factors that are vital for reducing operating costs for customers. By improving tyre life and machine utilisation, the company anticipates that the new products will greatly assist in optimising operational efficiencies.

The introduction of these tyres not only expands JK Tyre’s OTR portfolio but also reinforces the company’s commitment to specialised industrial applications in construction and mining. Furthermore, the company is actively exploring ways to bolster its presence in higher-value OTR segments and enhance collaboration with equipment manufacturers.

This strategic move aligns with JK Tyre’s broader vision to deliver advanced and reliable solutions to its clients in the construction and mining sectors, thereby sustaining its growth trajectory in the competitive tyre market.
