After undertaking the Cofit-20 initiative under the guidance of Dr Athawale, to assist employees to keep their well-being in check, CEAT has undertaken the mammoth task of creating awareness about the current Covid-19 pandemic among the unorganised members of the automotive eco-system. CEAT reached out to around 15000 mechanics and 15000 drivers of auto & small commercial vehicle in the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Nashik, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Lucknow, Kanpur, Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi.
The CEAT team organized an interaction of mechanics with its Chief Fitness Officer Dr Athawale. She increased awareness and answered several critical questions of the mechanics. Dr Athawale answered queries and cleared doubts about what is the Covid-19 virus, how to tackle, hygiene practices that need to be followed, what food can be consumed by people during this time, how can they ensure the safety of their families and children. Most of these mechanics were not aware of basic precautionary measures to be taken and were thankful for such a call to clear their doubts and help them in such a crisis.
Mr Amit Tolani, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Tyres said, “During such critical times, misinformation can deem to be more deadly than the virus itself, which is why the team at CEAT Tyres wanted to help the situation, by reaching out to the common man and clearing their doubts. The team has done an excellent job and we will try and reach out to more people.”
After reaching out to its mechanics, CEAT now plans on reaching out to 15000+ auto drivers in the cities of Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune, Patna and Ranchi as well as the Dealers and sub-dealers.
