Finolex Industries Limited (FIL) and its CSR partner, Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), proudly inaugurated the renovation and revival of a well at the Special Central Jail Saylawas, located in Dausa District, Rajasthan. This initiative underscores FIL-MMF’s unwavering commitment to sustainable water management and community welfare as part of its extensive CSR endeavors.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Ms Monika Agarwal Ji, Director Inspector General of Police, Jail Department, Rajasthan, Mr. Shourabh Swami (SP Jail), and Mr. Rajesh Dukiya (Jailar), along with Mr. Lavkush Gurjar (Industry Incharge, Jail). Representing FIL and MMF were Mr. Chirag Pagdhar, Sales Head, West Zone, Mr. Nitin Jain, Sales Head, Mr Ashish Sharma-Jaipur Sales Head, Mr. Pankaj Khandelwal, Unnati Sales, Retailer of Finolex Industries Limited, Dosa, Mr. Hemant Chaturvedi, and Mr. Nitul Barot, MMF Representative.
The renovated well is a transformative initiative designed to ensure a sustainable water supply for approximately 550 inmates and staff members. The restoration significantly improves access to clean water, enhancing living conditions, hygiene standards, and overall well-being within the jail premises. It also supports tree plantation efforts, fostering a greener environment and reducing the facility’s dependency on external water sources. Previously, the jail relied on tanker water at an approximate cost of Rs. 1 lakh monthly. The revived well not only eliminates this expense but also establishes long-term self-sufficiency and resource conservation for the facility.
Speaking at the event, Ms Monika Ji expressed her gratitude to Finolex Industries and Mukul Madhav Foundation for their meaningful contribution. She highlighted the project’s sustainable impact, stating that the uninterrupted water supply would improve daily operations while enabling afforestation and beautification efforts, thus creating a positive, rehabilitative environment.
On behalf of FIL-MMF, Mr. Chirag Pagdhar thanked the Jail Authorities for their collaboration and hospitality during the project execution. He emphasized the organization’s mission to contribute to social development and sustainability through impactful CSR projects.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shourabh Swami, SP Jail, who applauded the collaborative efforts of FIL-MMF and the jail authorities, making this initiative a resounding success.
This project is part of Mukul Madhav Foundation’s broader mission to transform lives within India’s prison system. MMF has collaborated with prisons across the country to implement rehabilitation and skill-building programs aimed at reducing recidivism and improving employability. These initiatives have positively impacted both inmates and prison staff, fostering dignity and self-reliance.
Some notable MMF projects include agricultural activities in open jails, health camps for women and children, refurbishment of prisoner-run canteens, the provision of computers at Yerawada Jail in Maharashtra, and plumbing training for inmates at Vadodara Jail in collaboration with ITI in Gujarat. These projects reflect FIL-MMF’s belief in inclusive growth, second chances, and creating opportunities for inmates to reintegrate successfully into society while supporting their well-being and development.
