CSR News: CreditAccess India Foundation Strengthens Healthcare Interventions, Immunises 2000 Rural girls with Cervical Cancer Vaccination

CreditAccess India Foundation (CAIF), the CSR wing of CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (CA Grameen), India’s largest microfinance institution (NBFC-MFI), in collaboration with Jivika Healthcare and Satara Zilla Parishad, has successfully immunized 2,000 rural schoolgirls in Satara with the life-saving cervical cancer vaccine. Alongside vaccination, an extensive awareness campaign was also conducted to educate the community, beneficiaries, and their guardians on cervical health, early screening, and prevention.

Building on its successful healthcare initiatives in Jharkhand last year, CreditAccess India Foundation (CAIF) is now extending its cervical cancer prevention initiatives to Maharashtra, solidifying its commitment to protecting rural women’s health across generations. Through its mobile health clinics and wellness camps in Jharkhand, CAIF has provided vital cancer screenings and early detection services to underserved communities. Recognizing the need for a more preventive approach, CAIF has now expanded its efforts from screening mothers in Jharkhand to vaccinating young girls in Maharashtra.

Speaking on the initiative, Ganesh Narayanan, Chief Executive Officer, CA Grameen, & Director, CAIF, stated, “We have identified “Health” as of the core themes of our CA India Foundation and we believe that “immunization” for cervical cancer is key to the well-being of women and there is lack of awareness and commitment to the same. By protecting women from cervical cancer, we are not just administering vaccines; we are safeguarding generations to come. Every dose represents hope, health, and the right to a life free from preventable disease. Together with our partners, we are breaking barriers to healthcare access and proving that true impact begins with compassion and commitment.”

Smt. Yashni Nagrajan, Chief Executive Officer, Satara Zilla Parishad, stated, “This mission is a crucial step in protecting women’s health and reducing the cancer burden. We are thankful for CreditAccess Grameen Limited’s support in the immunisation program to achieve our endeavour for cancer-free Satara.”

Mr. Jignesh Patel, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Jivika Healthcare, said, “Prevention is always better than cure, and at Jivika Healthcare, we firmly believe in strengthening preventive healthcare solutions at the grassroots level. This initiative is more than just a vaccination drive; it is about creating a sustainable healthcare model that ensures every girl, regardless of her socio-economic background, has the opportunity to lead a healthier life. We look forward to expanding our efforts to reach even more communities in need.

With this initiative, CreditAccess India Foundation strengthens its commitment to overall community development, demonstrating that healthcare access must go hand in hand. The company remains dedicated to expanding its preventive healthcare efforts, bringing life-saving interventions to women and girls in underserved regions.
