On April 1, China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, emphasized the significance of stable relations between Beijing and New Delhi as both nations marked the 76th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. In a message shared on X, the ambassador stated, “China and India are neighbours that cannot be moved apart.” He highlighted the necessity for both countries to foster a friendship that will mutually benefit them and aid in their collective success. Xu referred to cooperation as essential for realizing the vision of a “Dragon-Elephant Tang,” symbolizing the collaborative potential between the two nations.

In a related development, Qin Jie, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Mumbai, shared insights about the future trajectory of India-China relations during a press interaction. He remained optimistic about the partnership, referencing exchanges between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping. With the upcoming BRICS Summit set to take place in New Delhi, he noted that the event would offer a platform for further enhancing bilateral ties. Qin stated, “For the future of the relationship, we are moving in the correct direction under the leadership of our leaders.” He mentioned that both leaders have engaged in discussions twice in the past two years, fostering a sense of optimism.
