In 1927, a group of visionary women came together to shape India’s future — not just for themselves, but for generations to come. This was the All India Women’s Conference, or AIWC.
The organisation was founded by Margaret Cousins, Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, and Sarojini Naidu. From the fight for women’s education and suffrage to their role in India’s freedom movement, AIWC became a powerful voice for equality and reform.
Even today, the organisation engages in workshops, rural outreach, women learning skills, solar panel installation, legal aid desk. With over 100,000 members and hundreds of branches across India, its legacy lives on.
AIWC continues to empower women through education, health, environment, and legal rights.
