Dhurandhar The Revenge is set to be released tomorrow at 5:00 PM, generating significant anticipation among audiences. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) concluded its censoring process today, detailing the modifications required for the film’s approval.

CBFC Issues Modifications for Certification

The CBFC granted Dhurandhar The Revenge an ‘A’ certificate. However, the Examining Committee identified a need for 21 cuts and adjustments. Among these were directives to mute certain abusive language and to substitute other terms. The specific words targeted for alteration have not been disclosed in the notification.

In instances where non-offensive terms were utilized, they were also changed. The committee required that a name be changed to a fictional alternative in two separate scenes featuring muted dialogue.

Visual Cuts Required for Content Adjustments

Regarding visual content, some violent scenes were notably affected. For instance, a scene depicting a head being struck with a hammer has been truncated by 2 seconds. Additionally, footage of a head being hit with cement blocks was reduced by 4 seconds, while another scene featuring an eye being struck was cut down by 4 seconds as well. The most significant reduction occurred in a scene involving beheading and kicking, which was shortened by 24 seconds.

The Committee also requested two corrections in the film’s subtitles, focusing on a historical event and the name of a city. Moreover, the filmmakers were instructed to add disclaimers addressing drug use and indicating the film contains disturbing content, urging viewer discretion.

Titles of chapters were to be presented in Hindi as part of the requirements. An Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) certificate was submitted for sequences featuring animals. In addition, permission letters were provided for the inclusion of references to the Prime Minister and news footage within the film.

Total Footage Cut and Film Duration

In total, the CBFC mandated a removal of 94 seconds, equating to 1 minute and 34 seconds from the final cut. After implementing the necessary alterations, the film received its censor certificate.
