The spree of wives killing their husbands continues. In yet another shocking incident, a 30-year-old auto driver was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The body of the man was found in his home in Samastipur district. Upon investigation the police found that the man was murdered by his wife and her lover.

This comes after he confronted his wife over her affair with their children’s tutor. The incident occurred in Laguniya Raghukanth village under Mufassil police station. The horrifying details of the crime have triggered widespread outrage and a full-scale investigation by Mufassil police .

Body found in a pool of blood

The police identified the deceased as Sonu Kumar who is an auto driver. Kumar was found at his home lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries late Thursday night. According to police sources, Sonu had been married to Smita Devi (also referred to as Smita Jha) for five years.

The police in their investigation questioned the neighbours and relatives of the couple. After which it was found that the couple’s relationship had been rocky from the beginning. Police stated that their relationship was marred by frequent arguments. During this period the accused Smita also desired to stay at her maternal home in Madho Vishanpur. A village panchayat had earlier mediated a reconciliation, resulting in a written agreement between the couple.

Murder and Aftermath

On the night of the murder, Sonu had gone out to work but never returned. His body was discovered the next morning, severely injured and soaked in a pool of blood. Following which his wife, Smita, was taken into custody for questioning. Meanwhile Hariom, Smita’s alleged lover, remains absconding.

Smita, however, denied any involvement, stating, “He came home around 1 am and started arguing with me like he always did when drunk. I later found him dead with blood and mud on his clothes. I informed everyone immediately.”

Statement of Victim’s Father

Sonu’s father, Tuntun Jha, claimed that tensions escalated after a local tutor, Hariom Kumar, began visiting their home to teach the children. “One evening, Sonu came home late and found his wife in an objectionable situation with the tuition teacher. A heated argument broke out, and he warned Hariom not to return,” Jha told police. Though Hariom stopped visiting for a brief period, he reportedly resumed contact when Sonu’s elder brother called him to tutor his children..

Police Investigation Underway

Senior police officer Sanjay Kumar Pandey confirmed the presence of injury marks on Sonu’s body. Authorities indicated that a violent altercation likely occurred following a confrontation about the alleged affair. A forensic team has examined the crime scene, and a post-mortem has been completed.

Authorities are now intensifying efforts to locate the missing tutor. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to piece together the events that led to the brutal killing.
