Bihar’s Killer Bride: Wife Murders Husband 45 Days After Marriage, Wanted to Marry Uncle

Another shocking incident of marital murder that mirrors the infamous Meghalaya honeymoon case has come to light from Bihar. A 25-year-old man named Priyanshu was allegedly killed just 45 days after his wedding in Bihar’s Aurangabad district. According to police, his wife, Gunja Devi, and her maternal uncle, Jeevan Singh conspired to kill him. Gunja Devi reportedly had an affair with her uncle Jeevan Singh.

Illicit Affair Sparks Deadly Plot

The accused Gunja Devi, in her 20s, was allegedly in an illicit romantic relationship with her maternal uncle, 55-year-old Jeevan Singh. However, due to strong opposition from their families, Devi was forcibly married to Priyanshu. The victim Priyanshu was a resident of Barwan village under Nabinagar police station. Both Gunja and Priyanshu were married just 2 months ago.

However, Gunja Devi was unable to accept the marriage. Devi and Singh allegedly hatched a plan to murder Priyanshu and hired contract killers for the job.

Murder on the Way Home

According to reports, on June 25, Priyanshu was returning to his village after visiting his sister. Superintendent of Police Amrish Rahul stated that Priyanshu called his wife to send someone to pick him up from Navi Nagar railway station. On the way home, two assailants intercepted him and shot him dead.

“On June 25, Priyanshu was returning home by train after visiting his sister and had reached Navi Nagar station when he told Devi to send someone on a bike to pick him up,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Amrish Rahul said. “On his way from the station to his house, he was shot dead by two people,” he added.

Following this the Police started their investigations. Amid this Gunja Devi suddenly attempted to flee the village. This raised red flags for Priyanshu’s family and suspicions grew larger on the bride. Police reviewed her call records and discovered that she had been in regular contact with Singh. Furthermore it was revealed that Singh was the mastermind of the plan. He was the one to maintain communication with the hired shooters.

Arrests Made, Mastermind Still on the Run

The police immediately formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the crime. Meanwhile the police have arrested Devi and the two alleged shooters. Meanwhile a manhunt is ongoing to track down Singh, who remains at large.

“A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the murder. The murder took place 45 days after Priyanshu and Devi’s wedding. Three people, including Devi, have been arrested. Efforts are on to arrest Singh,” the SP said.

This recent case has drawn eerie parallels with the recent Meghalaya honeymoon murder, where newlywed wife Sonam and her lover Raj Kushawa, along with three others. Sonam killed her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in May. All five accused in that case are now in custody.
