The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has confirmed that the upcoming Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4) will consist of two distinct stages: Preliminary and Mains. This announcement was made by BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh, who noted that this format aligns with practices observed by various recruitment agencies across India. The commission also reaffirmed its decision to maintain negative marking in the assessment.

Singh pointed out that candidates should be aware that negative marking will apply uniformly to all participants, regardless of the language in which they choose to take the examination. He dismissed allegations suggesting discrepancies in scoring between candidates who answer in Hindi and those who answer in English.

Clarifications on Examination Language and Scoring Process

Furthermore, the BPSC clarified that candidates are not required to specify their examination language during the application process. Consequently, the commission does not differentiate candidate data based on language preference; thus, marking discrepancies cannot exist. This uniform policy aims to ensure fairness throughout the examination process.

The commission also outlined its procedure regarding candidates who achieve scores exceeding 60 per cent. According to BPSC regulations, any candidate attaining more than 60 marks will have their answer sheets rechecked as a quality assurance measure. It was emphasised that this rule does not restrict candidates from scoring above the 60 per cent threshold, but is solely a rechecking protocol for confirming accuracy.

The BPSC aims to uphold transparency and integrity in the evaluation process, ensuring all candidates’ performances are accurately assessed without bias related to language used. Rechecking procedures are implemented to maintain high standards in the examination outcome.

Examination Schedule Determined by Applicant Numbers

The scheduling of the TRE 4 examination will be influenced by the number of applications received. The BPSC stated that should the number of applicants reach up to five lakh, the examination could potentially be conducted in a single day. However, if applications surpass this figure, the examination may be spread across two or three days to accommodate the larger candidate pool.

As of now, an official date for the TRE 4 examination has not been announced. The BPSC indicated that the exam date is likely to be revealed in October and is anticipated to take place in either November or December of this year. This timeline aims to provide candidates with adequate notice ahead of the examination.
