Bengaluru Man Smashes Wife’s Head With Stone, Stages Murder as Road Accident

The CSR Journal Magazine

A shocking murder case has emerged from Bengaluru, where a 64-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and attempted to disguise the crime as a road accident. The accused, Ananth, reportedly took his wife, Gayathri (55), to a property site near Mittaganahalli on the pretext of showing or cleaning the land. What began as a routine outing ended in tragedy.

Alleged Murder and Cover-Up

According to police, Ananth attacked Gayathri at the isolated site, killing her on the spot. He then allegedly staged the scene to resemble a traffic accident, claiming their two-wheeler had been hit by another motorcycle. He called an ambulance and rushed her to Yelahanka government hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police Officer Spots Inconsistencies

The case took a dramatic turn when a Chikkajala Traffic Sub-Inspector, alerted due to the unnatural death, noticed inconsistencies between Ananth’s account and the injuries observed on the body. A preliminary inquiry raised serious doubts, prompting traffic police to alert the Bagaluru police station.

Investigation and Arrest

During questioning, police found contradictions in Ananth’s statements. Investigators later arrested him on murder charges. Gayathri was a government school physical education teacher, while Ananth is a retired private employee. The couple reportedly had frequent disputes over family matters, which police believe may have led to the crime.

While Ananth allegedly claimed he was unable to cope with harassment and threats from his wife, police say the exact motive is still under investigation. Forensic evidence and witness statements are being collected to strengthen the case. The couple’s daughter, a college student, has been left devastated by the incident.

Similar Case in Hyderabad

In a separate but similar case from Hyderabad, police uncovered a plot where a woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her lover and another accomplice, initially passing the death off as a heart attack. CCTV footage and injury analysis later exposed the crime.
