Badshah Summoned by Haryana Women’s Commission Over Controversial Lyrics in ‘Tateeree’

The CSR Journal Magazine

Rapper and singer Badshah is facing scrutiny after the Haryana State Commission for Women issued a formal summons concerning his recent Haryanvi song ‘Tateeree.’ This action comes amid allegations that the lyrics of the track, released on March 1, 2026, are offensive and insensitive to cultural values.

Complaints Leading to Action

The commission has taken notice of multiple complaints asserting that the song’s lyrics are inappropriate, arguing that they violate standards of decency and modesty. The official summons, issued on March 6, indicates that the commission is looking into allegations against Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, regarding the specific language used in the song.

Details of the Summons

The notice has been directed to the Superintendent of Police in Panipat, calling for the presence of all relevant parties during the forthcoming hearing. The complaint has been made by Savita Arya, president of Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti, in collaboration with Shiv Kumar, director of Shiv Aarti India Foundation. They assert that the lyrics in ‘Tateeree’ include vulgar language and objectify women and minors.

Upcoming Hearing Scheduled

In response to the complaints lodged, the commission has decided to initiate formal proceedings. Chairperson Renu Bhatia announced that a hearing is set to take place on March 13, 2026, at 11:30 AM, in the Conference Hall at the District Collector’s Office in Panipat. Bhatia will preside over the session.

Regulatory Concerns Raised

Bhatia has expressed concern regarding the initial regulatory approval of the song, noting her previous experience as a member of the Central Board of Film Certification. She has raised questions about how content containing such contentious lyrics received authorization. The commission’s upcoming hearing is expected to further investigate this matter.
