“Animals deserve love, need protection and care”: Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has voiced his concern for animals saying they deserve love, and need protection and care. The actor also extended his praise for the initiative Vantara. This comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara, an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre managed by Anant Ambani.

Shah Rukh Khan re-posted PM Modi’s tweet on his official X handle. The post highlighted the Vantara centre’s work in rescuing wild elephants. It further acknowledged Anant Ambani’s dedication to animal welfare.

PM Modi’s Visit to Vantara

During his visit to Vantara in Gujarat’s Reliance Jamnagar Refinery Complex on Monday, PM Modi witnessed several heartbreaking cases of animal cruelty. He shared the emotional story of an elephant , “At Vantara, I saw an elephant which was the victim of an acid attack. The elephant was being treated with utmost care. There were other elephants too, which were blinded and that too ironically by their Mahout. Another elephant was hit by a speeding truck. This underscores an important question – how can people be so careless and cruel? Let us put an end to such irresponsibility and focus on kindness towards animals”.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Support for Animal Welfare

King Khan has always shared his thoughts on the importance of caring for animals, stressing that their well-being is crucial for both their health and the planet.

His X post reads: “Animals deserve love, and they need protection and care… for their health & that of our planet. PM @narendramodi’s presence at Vantara reinforces the importance of this.

The purity of a person’s heart is directly proportional to their love for animals. Vantara and Anant’s commitment of providing a sanctuary to unfortunate animals is a testament to that. Keep it up Beta!!”.

“Padmaavat” actress Deepika Padukone posted a story on Instagram. She shared a picture of PM Modi from his visit to Vantara. In the post she wrote, “Truly, one of a kind, Vantara. Congratulations Anant and Radhika on this iconic moment.”

Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan wrote, “Vantara is a true gem, Anant! A remarkable way to treasure the bountiful wildlife that our country boasts. So delighted to see our honourable PM sir @Narendramodi ji visit @vantara and support such a beautiful cause. #PM visits Vantara.”

Vantara: A Sanctuary for Rescued Wildlife

Vantara is a large-scale animal (wildlife) rescue centre, cave, conservation and rehabilitation centre established by Reliance Industries with Reliance Foundation. Vantara spreads over 3,000 acres of land housing over 200 elephants and a variety of other animals, including leopards, rhinos, and crocodiles.

The Centre has been recognised for its significant contributions to animal welfare, receiving the ‘Prani Mitra’ National Award. The centre, initiated and managed by Anant Ambani, provides crucial care to wildlife in need, offering them protection and rehabilitation.
